AC Milan squandered a two-goal lead when they faced AS Roma in the 2022/2023 Serie A 17th game at the San Siro. Milan and Rome drew 2-2.

Pierre Kalulu and Tommaso Pobega each scored twice for Milan. Roma managed to force the tie with goals from Roger Ibáñez and Tammy Abraham.

Thanks to this result, Milan should stay in third place in the standings with 37 points. For its part, Roma is in sixth place with 31 points.

Milan had a chance to counterattack when it was only three minutes into the game. Unfortunately, it still produced no results. After that, the two teams did not launch many dangerous attacks.

Milan could only open the scoring in the 30th minute through Kalulu's goal. Receiving a corner from Sandro Tonali, the 22-year-old defender headed the ball past Rui Patricio from close range.

Roma tried to equalize the score through the action of Nicola Zalewski. Unfortunately, his shot went just wide of the Milan goal. The 1-0 scoreline lasted until the halftime break.

Back from the locker room, Milan tried to play more aggressively. Theo Hernández and Olivier Giroud also got chances. However, both are not yet fruitful targets.

Milan finally managed to double their lead in the 77th minute, thanks to Pobega's goal. Getting the assist from Rafael Leao, Pobega fired a shot that hit Chris Smalling and scored.

Roma could only score one goal in the 87th minute thanks to a header from Ibáñez after a corner from Lorenzo Pellegrini. Only one goal remained for Roma to continue suppressing the host defense.

Roma great fight finally paid off in the third minute of stoppage time. Again, starting from a set piece situation, Nemanja Matic's header could still be deflected by Ciprian Tatarusanu, but Abraham successfully scored the rebound. The score of 2-2 was the final result of this match.
