Monza vs Inter Milan: Inter held to a 2-2 draw by Monza

Inter Milan victory that was in sight finally vanished in injury time. The Nerazzurri had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Monza.

Inter Milan faces Monza on matchday 17 of Serie A 2022/23. The Nerazzurri shared points with Monza during their visit to the U-Power Stadium.

Inter took the lead through Matteo Darmian in the 10th minute. However, Patrick Ciurria equalized a minute later.

Lautaro Martinez put Inter ahead in the 22nd minute. However, Monza refused to give up and sealed a draw through Luca Caldirola goal in the 90+3 minute.

Playing in front of his own supporters, Monza appeared confident enough. Even so, Monza's goal, which Michele Di Gregorio escorted, broke first.

Inter opened the scoring after just 10 minutes of play. Matteo Darmian scored after grabbing Alessandro Bastoni cross.

Monza immediately replied one minute later. Patrick Ciurria found the net against Inter with a left-footed shot after receiving Matteo Pessina pass.

Inter finally got back ahead in the 22nd minute through Lautaro Martinez after taking advantage of a mistake by the Monza defender. Lautaro Martinez managed to snatch the ball from Pablo Mari's feet and then hit the ball into the goal.

Inter then had time to threaten Monza goal through Federico Dimarco and Lautaro Martinez. Until the first half ended, the score of 2-1 did not change again.

In the second half, Monza immediately attacked the Inter defense. However, the experiments conducted by Carlos Augusto and Matteo Pessina have yet to produce results.

Lautaro Martinez got a chance in the 50th minute. However, his header was still unable to rip through Monza goal.

In the 68th minute, Filippo Ranocchia threatened the Inter goal. His right-footed shot from outside the penalty box was thwarted by goalkeeper Andre Onana. Four minutes later, Andre Onana again made a brilliant save. This time he blocked Pablo Mari header. 

Lautaro Martinez found space in the penalty box in the 84th minute. However, his right-footed shot hit the post. Monza survived defeat after Luca Caldirola scored a header in the 90+3 minute. The 2-2 score was the final result of this match.
